Tips

November gardening in the UK

Plant spring-flowering bulbs at the  right depth. If the ground is  not ready use  large pots,  you could fill gaps later. Store your bulbs in a cool area below 60 ?F until planting. Plant daffodils in October and Tulips in November.

Plant Hedges, clean greenhouse glass, Insulate your greenhouse with bubble polythene or special plastic clips that twist into place in the frame.

Pot up chives ready for a potato garnish and of course winter soups.  Lift and divide congested clumps - small clumps can also be grown in pots on the windowsill.

Onions and garlic

Some Garlic cloves can be selected to plant outside in November or use  pots to plant out later. Planting selected onion sets in autumn will give you a crop from late June into early July

Collect fallen leaves and make a leaf mould. (Mulching)
